Need help with spent case stuck on Rem 700 bolt

So I had my used Remington 700 SPS .308 out for the first time today. I put 5 rounds through it fine, but then on the sixth shot the bolt was very difficult to open and when I did get it to pull back the case is stuck firmly on the bolt. I was able to remove the bolt from the gun, but not the case from the bolt.
I can wiggle it back and forth a tiny bit, but cannot rotate the case on the bolt at all. I tapped it on a table a few times but don't want to risk damaging anything. It does appear as though the case is bulged right around the extractor groove, but I can't really see if the groove itself is bulged at this point.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get this off, or should I just take it to a gunsmith? This is my first bolt action so I am not sure what to do about it.

If you smack it out, I can't think of anything you might damage besides the extractor. You can get new ones on brownells cheap. But perhaps someone else will chime in with different info, I'd wait, because I just cant *think* of anything else that might have an issue.

Well, I did smack it out on a table by hitting the case. The bolt face now has a sliver that was dug out. Not sure if it was there before or after, but it's there now. The image has been added to the album I linked to in my first post.

Eeew. That ain't right... No way the case rim should have been able to do that either. It's time to be talking to Bert about that.

WHoa sh*t.. I was gonna say mine is probably worse than..... but then I saw that piece of the bolt sticking out like a hang nail... ouch... yea... talk to Bert and see what he can do for you.

What kind of brass is that if you don't mind me asking? Probably most of us need to stay away from... maybe?

Seriously... its brass against tempered steel. Several hundred times harder bolt than brass..

I can't believe it did that. Hope you didn't do it just on my recommendation. I did put in a disclaimer.

Either way, its like cars, forced upgrades are always a blessing. Upgrade the bolt to one of the precision trued aftermarket units, get even better accuracy from your rifle.

I cant as well. Pry brass out from steel and the steel goes wonky. Only in a fiction movie. [Eek2]

Were these handloads or factory ammo. The rim recess looks bulged a good bit.

Reloads or ffactory the way the brass flowed makes it look like the headspace is WAY off as in long it almost looks like the locking lugs are either undersized or it was not fully closed during the last shot.

This was Freedom Munitions 168 grain remanufactured ammo. It's Lake City brass that is supposedly once fired.

I didn't do it specifically on your recommendation J, I asked in a few places and the general consensus was "Quit Nancying it, you won't hurt it.". I am not too beat up about it. I emailed Freedom Munitions to see what they will do about it.

Before firing it it passed a test with go/no go gauges. Not a profession inspection, but it passed that test.
