I have a fsc556 that was pinned and welded that was removed. The threads by the pin hole have some burrs that need to be removed. Does anyone have a tap I could borrow or any ideas on how to clean up the threads on the brake?

try ace hardware for a tap
1/2 28 is not a common thread size and as a result your not gonna find it at the average hardware/tool store. Not to mention the last 1/2" 28 tap I bought was $45.00.
That being said, come see me, I have both the tap and die.
Edit- I see your in Woodland Park. Throw it in the mail to me.
Yep, like Bert said, you will not find it locally anywhere and certainly not on the cheap
Good luck and just have Bert hook you!
If its not to fugged up. Use a stiff wire brush 1st, apply a light coat of oil and then slowly thread on the new muzzle brake. It should cut into the old grooves. If not diffidently send it to Bert!!
