Son's first P-dog hunt
Sorry, no pics. Went back to NE this weekend, found the perfect spot, nice hilltop surrounded by three p-dog towns that had never been shot at. My son Dante (now 11) shot the biggest prairie dog I've ever seen, right between the eyes from about 10 feet. His first time out with his new 10/22. He ended up bagging about 10 in the three hours we were out. Between myself, my Uncle and my cousin we added about 60 more. Was a great time, and we can't wait to go back. Maybe next time I'll remember to take pics.

Awesome. Shooting prairie dogs is one the funnest things I do with my sons, they are now 13 and 16.

10' away? Dam'n dude, I guess you weren't kidding about having never been shot at before! I can't even get that close to wabbits where I go, and they're dumb as dirt!

They really had no clue. We didn't sit up on the hill and plink away, we walked right down into the middle of them and shot point blank. I think my longest shot was 125 yards, but most shots were under 50 feet. I even got 4 off the same mound, one after the other, they just sat there looking at us. Saw several coyotes too, will get them this winter.

Actually I take that back. I had a wabbit about 10' from me today that I aimed 1" above and still ended up hitting it in the neck. A second one was about that close too, and died via lead poisoning of the .40 caliber type.
