Hello ive got an issue that i wanted to get some input on. So ive got a flat top carbine with no iron sights on it (i have a set of flip ups already)and i was wondering what the easiest way to go about putting them on would be; should i replace the gas block with a reciever height railed block or should i go the free floated rail path? Also anyone have experiance with the clamp on gas blocks? How well do they stay put\do the screws back out?

From your post, I am guessing that your AR has a railed gas block instead of a fixed front sight gas block.
There are proper height folding front sights for your railed gas block, so you won't need to change it to a receiver height railed gas block.
No the gas block on it is not railed. im trying to decide if i should change the block to a railed one or should i change the handguard/rails to a free float rail. Which would be the easiest
The easiest and cheapest is to change it to an A-2 "F" marked front sight tower. Clamp on or pin on.

Or, YHM makes a folding front sight/gas block that clamps on.

Do you know how well do those clamp on gas breaks stay in place? The screws arnt gonna back out while im shooting? That just seems to me like it might be a problem but maybe im just overthinking it
Proper torque and a bit of applied per instructions, and no problems of them backing out even after uncountable rounds.
Alright thanks man you helped me make up my mind im goin with the clamp on gas block/sight hopefully i can find one for a decent price haha
Make sure to use loctite on the set screws. My experence with all the heating up and cooling down if you just torque them on and dont use loctite they will come loose.
