Anyone have a good recommendation for a decently priced good mechanic. Have a cylinder 8 misfire on my ram 1500 and don't have the tools or know how to figure out WTF it is.
Thank you ahead of time
Edit: I am smart enough to have a code reader :)

Maybe zteknik-he's a member on here and located in the Springs.
Paging bobbyz! Zteknik is good to go...
Sorry I'm late guys :)
The easiest thing to do would be to swap a coil and plug from cylinder 8 to another cylinder and if the misfire goes to the cylinder you swapped the coil and plug is your culprit.
if it stays at the same cylinder then you have to dig a bit deeper. swapping over injectors and then if that doesn't do the trick do a compression test- dry then put oil in cylinder and then check to see if it boosts up.
Might want to do the compression test first before swapping injectors first-it's easier to do the compression test than it is to swap over injectors.
Feel free to give me and we'll see what we can come up with.
Thank you for the advice. I am really looking for someone to take it to. Still getting it after swapping coil and plug. Don't have the tools or time to dig into it. I am also leaking coolant but cannot find any external leaks for the life of me. Thinking maybe blown gasket.
Any advice is appreciated. I am limping to and from work right now but need to get this fixed before it becomes a complete engine :/
When you take the cap off the radiator is there a lot of pressure behind it? Also with the cap off see if there's any tale tell puffs of smoke. Sure sign of exhaust getting into the coolant system.
Also check for coolant in oil and oil in the coolant
The only time I have available to look at it with you would be this Saturday. I don't know if you want to wait that long and risk blowing an engine.
Send me a pm if you want to set anything up

Thanks Dave[Beer].
I really wish I can help him out some more.
Were really limited at what we can work on at the dealer on our own time.Diag and simple swapping stuff is ok,but when it comes to engine, head rebuilding they tend to frown on it unless you can get it done in one day.
Really appreciate all the info. When i take the radiator cap off there is some pressure but not a lot. Issue being as there was no coolant in it. Filled it up with cap off a little smoke comes out, bubbled and gurgled as i filled it while running to hopefully run out any air. Exhaust is extremely white and cloudy (not normal even for the temps we have had).
Really hoping to not run it much this week, but hard when we live up on the Northeast side (Stetson Hills) and i commute to Carson everyday and the wife works.
I understand that all of this is hard to diagnose without the vehicle running in front of you.
Thank you again for all the help.
