USPS refund?

Have any of you ever requested/received a USPS refund for guaranteed service? I sent a letter from Centennial to Las Vegas Thursday morning via express overnight with a guaranteed delivery by 3p Friday. Receipient contacted me yesterday about 4 to say it hadn't arrived.

As of this morning the USPS tracking site shows that it's "In transit to a sorting facility on March 5, 2015 at 6:15pm in Littleton". I'm going to the post office after it opens at 9:30 to file a refund request (hey $20 is $20). Now the item I was expecting Monday won't arrive until at least Wednesday, probably Thursday. This really pisses me off.[Mad]

In the grand scheme of things, and compared to many other places in the world, our postal rates are pretty damn low but still if you guarantee a service it should be provided or give me the refund. I'm sure it'll be a fun filled experience, wish me luck. Great way to start my vacation lol.
