Concrete Counter tops?
Does anyone have experience with concrete counters as far as DIY or having someone else making them and installing them? It looks like they're similar price-wise compared to quartz counter tops, but could be quite a bit of savings by DIY. I know the cabinets may have to be re-enforced to handle the weight and that shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't mind doing it myself and if anyone has any insight into that, I'd welcome the info. If anyone knows of a reasonable outfit in the metro Denver area to do it for me, let me know as well.
Thanks.

Not going to be much help with your questions.....but I've been doing remodels for about 25 years here and the one, and only, time I had a client ask for concrete tops was about 15 years ago. Everything else has been granite and quartz. Seems concrete was a short term fad.

I've done three concrete countertops, all back before I was doing all this crap for a living. It's an inexpensive solution, and it can look great. Be prepared for a lot of hours and some mistakes.
I'm happy to tell you everything I know. Call me at the shop.

Ive helped my dad do a few. If you're real handy and dont mind investing in tools they can come out nice. If you just want one set for your place and that's it youll be about break even assuming you 'pay' yourself minimum wage and don't sell the tools.

I'd you're looking for a cheap DIY that looks nice, check out the epoxied plywood stuff as well.
