Welder parts?
Son's welder broke, he's trying to find a place he can get a new contactor for a miller 185 here in the denver area tomorrow (Sat).
Anyone got any suggestions of places that might carry this type of part?
The part in question is the "contactor", part number 189 486 shown in the miller manual. The specific part number on the part removed from the welder shows as Furnas 42CE107102J
Any pointers to a place around denver that might carry similar parts would be great.

U.S welding or general Air
If you need it right away, online is your best bet. BUT... you'll need serial # as they show that (Furnas) number is not available, depending on year etc
I use these guys

Airgas is another possibility.

Go talk to Adrian or mike at gases and Arc of 58th and Franklin. (303)477-8037 they are Right across the street from the free stocks show parking lot. Or Shannon down at high plains welding, they are down south on Umatilla st, in englewood. (303) 789-2844

You can also try colorado electric supply or Greybar. Tell them you need a Furnace electrical contact and give them the part number off the contact. You will probably have better luck through a electrical supply store than most of the welding shops.

Did he get a contactor? Many times you can just polish the contacts to get through the job. Not many welding suppliers stock internal parts unless there is an unreasonable high demand for a certain item.
Grainger is another option for a generic replacement. They would have units on hand.

yeah, he did get a new contactor from High Plains, and got the welder working again.
The contactor was cheap, so while there he also picked up a few other parts to hopefully keep the welder running nice (new trigger assembly, and some other replaceable parts).
