Cricket Precision Rifle - anyone tried one?

Thinking about this for the kids. Looks easily adjustable.

Link didn't work well for me, only got a glimpse of it. A muzzle brake on a .22lr? And somehow "Crickett" and "precision rifle" in the same sentence seems odd.....

I kinda want one now...

They do look cool enough to get/keep a young kid interested in shooting.

Getting most kids rifles to fit in prone is an exercise in frustration. My concerns with this are accuracy and if the grip area is sized for little hands.

A buddy got one for his daughter (against my uniformed opinion) and while they tried, they never got any decent accuracy out of it. It was basically a "trainer" in ergonomics, but not much else. She is now shooting a 10/22 in a MagPul stock with a match barrel and accurized action. He makes her operate the safety after each shot. She trains on 1" and 2" steels out to 150 yards with it.

I got one about a month ago for my boys, ages 7 and 11. I had them shooting on my old 10/22, but my 11 year old was barely able to manage the length of pull, my 7 year old couldn’t even shoulder it.

They both love the Cricket Precision. Once sighted in, they were making accurate hits at 50 yards all day, and want to shoot 100 yards next time. I can’t comment on how accurate it is, I haven’t shot for groups yet. The stock is definitely sized for small hands. Almost feels like a toy to me. Only thing I don’t like is my boys learning to shoot with optics. I’m considering another iron sighted rifle or a .22 pistol for them.

Does it cock by running the bolt, or do you have to pull the knob or whatever back after the bolt is closed?

You pull a knob on the back of the bolt to cock it.

I started my older kids on a savage rascal I know they don’t have a “cool” stock but frankly mine used the rascal for about a year or two each and then moved onto savage mkii youth and my oldest is (fully grown) barely big enough for a mkii adult stock. My point, they don’t really use a micro youth rifle all that long you could always get a mkii youth and shorten the stock even a bit more, savage mkii’s are so reasonable just get another when they need a new size stock lol each one of my kids has 2 mkii’s though they do 4h shooting sports

edit- if it takes a “cool” stock to get them interested in shooting hhen jist be a little more patient and wait another year or two to start them, just my opinion.
