Might be picking up a car as my dad's golden years last hurrah car. Because of the obvious quirks and issues with lower volume fancy cars etc, I figured it's worth the expense and effort to get any used one looked at.
Anyone have personal knowledge/experience with someone qualified or experienced to check out Jags or exotics in general?
There are many indy european auto service places near 120th and hwy36 for PPI.
If getting used, it might be more important to know which service is due and what parts are known to go bad at certain mileage.
For an example, many performance cars needs to do diff fluid every 3 oil change, where as most normal car is about 100k ish.
Those very nice 2017 f type r is running at $35k to 45k.
Heck of a good deal relative to M or AMGs.
As a Jag owner, I highly recommend having your local Jag dealer check it over.
Rear diff certainly seems to be most common issue i've seen with mixed comments about frequent diff fluid replacements solving it or not. Excessive rust from the tata sources steel in the back is an easy one to look for, but a lot of the rest is certainly outside of my expertise level.
Not to poo-poo on anyone?s dreams, but I thought Jaguars were known to be fairly problematic?
Historically yes, though with multiple changing of owners hands by all accounts are significantly better. All these luxury exotics though are not going to be as trouble free as your average mass market japaenese or domestic car. There's lambo's known to need clutch replacements inside 10k and other craziness.Quote:

There is Denver Jaguar, good but I think he likes older models. Good guy. You have the steal er ships, good diagnostics but expensive labor rate and parts pricing. Arvada German Garage did a good job for me, they are NW in Arvada, not sure where your at.. I did not like Euro Sport in Arvada, took too long to replace some hoses. More a Porsche shop. I am sure there are other Indy shops that are good, you will just have to suss them out.
What year, model of Jag are you thinking? If I can help just let me know.
