So, I was hoping someone here had some real world experience with one of the 22LR conversion kits on their Glock.
From what I can tell the Advantage Arms kits seem to get better reviews than the Tactical Solutions kits.

When I got my non-glock, glock I picked up Advantage Arm kit...sort of works; but a bit too much fussing with it.
I have not tried it on my real glock (yet) to see if the Lone Wolf Dist was the one driving the problems.
If I cleaned the the kit up, re-lubed it, I could get back to running it without having a failure to extract/feed.
I might just need to hit the breach with a bit of polishing to help things a bit - or the extractor.
When the conversion works I love it...it was why I picked up the glock.
Oh, to be fair, I only put in less than 100 rounds of ammo and I was using cheap 22lr ammo. So using it a bit more would give it a real break in period.

Yea, I could not buy what was not being sold yet....so I did what I could to get what I got.
Quite fussy with ammo.
Also I had the chance to test two identical ones with the same exact ammo from the same box.
One worked, the other not so much...
Been having pretty good luck with the Glock44. It's basically double the price, but seems to be largely ammo agnostic aside from some old Remington 38gr subsonic stuff I have. Not sure if it's $200+/- dollars better, having never messed with the conversion kits.
The Glock 44 is much more tollerant of different ammo, probably because of the polymer slide vs the metal (I think aluminum) of the AA conversion.
There is however also a much larger difference in the actual weight of the firearm vs an actual Glock, which may or may not be an issue if you plan on using it as a trainer.

I've got quite a bit of time with them. They're ok if you want failure training. Otherwise spend time getting the right ammo, usually stingers, blahs blahs blahs.Quote:

Thanks. I have an extra frame and don?t really need any more centerfire pistols so had the idea maybe make it a dedicated 22.
Not really looking for it to be a trainer but just a fun little plinker. I don?t mind the occasional rimfire hiccup for a range toy but I don?t want to throw something together that is a total piece of garbage.
If it will run decently on decent quality ammunition I?ll stick to that and be happy. I would never expect to feed it crappy bulk ammunition and have it run reliably.
I've used the AA kits on a 19 and 17......... Both worked well for me.. .... Not sure why mine have worked well.
They aren't target pistols though..... running out past 10yds, the groups open up, not bad but not a Ruger mk2 either.
