Colorado makes it pretty easy
When you do set it up with the Secretary of State, opt into the Secure Business Filing. They will send you a PIN and you will need to use that when you file additional documents to your business file. It keeps others from doing the same or even taking over your business filing. Lastly, when you decide you are done with the LLC, dissolve it.

Start here to search for the name of your business. If it is available, click on file documents and follow the prompts. It is very easy.
Been down this rabbit hole.
My lawyer and accountant said to open an S corp over an LLC. It can be done, online, for about $50.
My understanding is an LLC is more for real estate deals.
For NFA purposes?
I just did my annual status filing with the state. It wasn't too bad setting it up the LLC. I needed one to work as a contract employee so the staffing agency could pay me. Some say I should've done S Corp, some people say it wouldn't make a difference in my situation. My accountant was pretty 'meh' about it.
Thanks for the advice! I am just buying and selling stuff - re-seller. Mainly comic books, and cards/collectibles. Time to cash in on the crazy market right now. Looks like I am all done. Got filed payed my 50 bucks and got my EIN!
Don't use your home address. Get a PO Box from a store that provides a street addtress, such as XXX Main Street, Suite 23 B 470, Anytown CO. Keep an extra layer of privacy from your home and business.
