Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I have been wanting an AR in 6.5 or .308 for a while, but the weight has been a turnoff. These solve that problem. It appears they shoot subMOA. I am leaning towards the 6.5 as apparently itnis going to stick around for a bit, though I would have to buy everything for it. I like the added range of the 6.5. DI or gas piston? I would like to be able to use it to hunt and play on the range once in a while.
either one works, depending on a few things.
#1 how much ammo do you have, for either caliber?
#2 if you reload, how many rounds could you load, today?
# 3 DI will be lighter, by a few oz, than piston
#4 there are lighter, more cost efficient bolt actions out there. If it's primarily a hunting rig.
I not a big fan of POF seen mixed QC from them, some are great and some not-so-great.
I am a big fan of Seekins. They give you a lot for the money, have good CS and are nice people too.
I also like 6.5 is also way better than 308, but that's just my 2 cents :)
I have a couple rounds of .308, only a small amount of brass for the 6.5. As for reloading, the 1050 and 550 are set up for .308 now. I'm down to about 20 lbs of powder for the .308, but I don't know what the new gun would like.
I had to call my gunsmith this morning. I am going to have him shave down the palm swells on my bolt .308 and .260. My finger isn't long enough to reach around without turning my wrist awkwardly. I've been shooting my heavy AR, and am down to .75 inch groups at 100, consistently hitting a 3" gong at 200. The bolt guns have been a little more time consuming shooting as after I get out of position, I have to look where my finger is in the trigger guard. I am able to feel the trigger now, just trying to figure out pressure. It appears I am pushing the trigger sideways some, as all of my groups have been hitting left.
The .308 would be a wiser choice at this time due to the amount of supplies I have on hand. Even my smith asked my why I would consider another caliber now. He likes my .260.

260 is good, I wish I had stayed on 260 and not drank the kool-ade of other calibers. Would have saved so much time and money :)
Try a straight-blade trigger if you can, might help in your situation.
