Ok.......... well it's in the actual law as starting April 1 2025:

Read the "Full Text" page 10 paragraph titled: CRS: 39-37-104.........
It's RIGHT there ....... in English and plain view.
What shop is this............... so I dont go there.
I think I know what shop you are referring to. They were pretty adamant that the tax started on January 1st, and the must start remitting the tax on April 1st. Of course, this shop doesn't like it's customers correcting them.
I am curious to see if smaller online vendors just stop shipping to CO as they don?t want to deal with it.
For the local shops, I guess everything will have another tax on it. Seems like sales and this tax means add another 15% to purchase.

As others have requested, which shop insists they are required to collect this tax Jan 1?

One of the benefits of this local site is to hold members accountable for their decisions, both good and bad. Which shop is trying to stick it to us 3 months early?
Of course, you're aware that this is an intended consequence; right?!
This gives the anti-gunner politicians plausible deniability that their actions directly limit/prohibit the exercise of the 2nd - their end goal. And, if they can add to the government coffers while doing so, all the better in their eyes.
Yup, I read the law, and read the list of BS that DID start on 1 January, which does not include this nonsense, just asking and curious if any other shops are this ill informed. We are all aware of the intended consequences regardless of their lies...
The ffl is not in the Denver metro area.
Anyone selling into Colorado now already has to collect State, County and city sales tax and pay it to the appropriate office.
The worst part is the county and city sales tax as you have to track down where to send it, and in some cases pay for a sales tax license.
It is bad enough on the collection logistics, the legislature should have made a central place to pay it to for all the local taxes.
