AR Triggers

I know, I know, I know. This is "general discussion" but if you look at the post count, no-one posts/reads most of the other forums. So just give my 10 lashes so that I can ask a question...

What is everyones opinions on AR triggers? I am building an AR and for various reasons bought a stripped BM lower. Basicaly, I didn;t want a complete lower because I want to add certain parts and didn't want to buy extra parts. It may cost me a little more, but I will have what I want.

So, I need a trigger. My thoughts: Chip McCormick drop-in, JP Enterprises, Jard. Any others? What I REALLY like but don;t know where to get is a set trigger. I have shot an Olympic Arms AR with the set trigger. It is great. A very light, crisp trigger when needed but most of the time a trigger that mimics a duty trigger.

I am wanting to build a "multi-purpose" lower that will work well for everything. That said, I don;t want a 1lb trigger. Probably 3 lbs is the lower end. I also want reliability. Some people slam adjustable triggers for having set screws that can back-out/fall-out and are un-relaible. What about locktite? Anyone had any experience with un-relaiable adjustable triggers?

So give me some of your thoughts. What trigger is a very nice all-purpose trigger? This lower will be used for carvine use and varmint hunting. Maybe even some IDPA side matches (if I can manage stay in the country long enough to make a match).

I like the RRA 2-stage triggers. Nice and clean with a crisp break. They're not as fancy as the fully adjustable units, but I prefer them to the standard single-stage.

JP and CMC for single stage. Both are drop in all set to go, everything locktited to beat the band, ect.

The Gieselle 2-Stage is awesome. Pull through the 2nd stage and its a perfect 4.5 lb trigger. Set it up and you can also have a great one pound second stage.

Action games like IPSC or 3-Gun, JP.

High power or accuracy stuff, Gieselle. All around, Gieselle.

Where do I find info (or the trigger) on a Gieselle trigger? I have googled and googled. Can't a link to the companies website. Most of what I get is AR15 dot com hits.

i have a RRA 2 stage and i like it, IMHO its the best bang for buck

you have to see what you want to spend
RRA 85 bucks
jewel is about 175
jard, geissel, jp and all those are 200+

so its what you want to spend

I've heard really good things about the RRA 2-stage as well.

I've got professionally tuned "factory" trigger in my AR-10. It's actually quite nice, but it doesn't seem to last very long before it requires additional maintenance.

I haven't quite decided what I want to do with it.

Till the Geisele came out, a Hollinger tuned RR was the two stage to get and a JP was the single stage. Jewell AR triggers dont hold up and are a pain to get set up.

The JARD single stage is also a great trigger. I have one in a varmint AR, perfect let-off of just over a pound. You can order heavier springs to get the poundage up, but I havent needed to.

My custom AR-10 in 260 Remington has the potential to be an awesome long-range target rifle.

Just needs a good (reliable) trigger and a good scope.

I've got the Chip McCormick single-stage, flat, trigger on my 3-gun AR and LOVE it.
