Any info on this company?
I was on my way home tonight and passed a pick up with "On Target" and "Firearms Safety" written on the outside. The name above is what Qwestdex spits out for the Denver area with those search parameters.

larry johnson is the owner
decent instructor. former LE (aren't most of them) good one to attend does not talk down to you, the women i know incl wife and S-I-L felt real comfortable with him. found out through a boulderite who with her husband just took his basic pistol course, that he has moved back to the metro area. they were very happy and planed to take his advanced class.
i took his F.A.T.S. simulator course about 12 years ago when he was working for todd manes (sp chk) also a few different advanced classes he put on., over the years as well as some of his competitions for former students.
i would say if you were to take a class that you and your s/o wanted to do at the same time he's good. if you are looking for a more "agressive" style of instruction then maybe not.
again nice guy does not talk down to you, raise his voice if you don't comprehend what it he is talking about etc. you will get planty of range time in , depending on what course you take.
and for what you are taught cost wise he is or used to be one of the better deals around.
Thanks for the quick reply!
I may have to put him on the short list for considering for training.
I've taken one course but still want others from different instructors under my belt before I apply for a CCW and put a gun on that belt.
On Target has a storefront location on Parker Road, south of the intersection with Havana. The store front sells videos, ammo, pepper spray, targets and gives information about their classes.
I spoke to the man I assume is the owner and I was very impressed with him. I'll have to see if I can get to his two day Level II course sometime soon.
At long last I've had a course with Larry Johnson. With the Dems dilly-dallying with CCW permits I figured I needed to get some paper in fast or maybe miss my opportunity.
What I took was the NRA Basic course. Required for CCW paperwork. It was available and the more interesting courses are all later in the year.
Larry Johnson is very knowledgeable on the topics. He taught the information required and a bit more besides. It is a perfect course for beginners and not uninteresting to people who aren't beginners.
A real quality course.
What type of prices does Mr. Johnson have? Are they comparable with other training institutions in CO?
On Target is not the cheapest place. I gave $150 for the NRA Basic course.
What you get is far more than the NRA Basic course and comes from Mr. Johnson's years of training police officers and serving in uniform.
I feel that I got full value for my money. I'm not sure I would feel the same paying less elsewhere.
Level 2 training at On Target is April 14 & 15. As of this afternoon only 3 slots left. There were 4 but I put money down for a slot.
Shotgun training that had been scheduled for Feb 24/25 is now March 10/11.
