From RMGO: Fox 31 Investigative Reporter Scam

Posting from an email I received from Dudley Brown at RMGO:

It has been brought to our attention that FOX31 reporters Julie Hayden and Josh Bernstein have been attempting to set up straw purchases via online firearm markets.
Keep an eye out for these FOX31 reporters trying to SCAM you in their "investigative reporting":

Many of our members have made us aware of these activities through a website called armslist.com.
If you are selling a firearm through this website, or any other website for that matter, please make sure that you exercise caution and your best judgment when completing a transaction.
Remember, while journalists have used these kinds of tactics in the past to paint gun owners in a negative light, they are most likely not violating any laws by doing so.
Again, make sure you are vigilant when you are conducting your firearms transactions online.

I don't think this could be reposted too much. We all need to police ourselves, but in particular, be attentive to the media setting us up.

I wonder what parameters they look for before attempting their shenanigans.

Julie's husband, Chuck Bonniwell is a rock solid conservative, Julie not so much. They used to do a very entertaining show on 850 KOA on Saturday mornings before they got canned and that idiot Mandis took over. Maybe Mandis isn't an idiot but I quit listening b/c he is awful.

I am boycotting them, screw them!

I wonder if the ATF will investigate this and prosecute. After all gun crimes are gun crimes.

What crimes?

The reports that I read about what they did indicate an attempt at a straw purchase. Isn't that against the law?

I wasn't there. That's what I read. Do you know the details of what happened? Maybe you can shed some light on this.
