My normal gas station by my house has been completely out of diesel for a few days.
King Soopers, yesterday. I was surprised to see even more Out Of Stock sections on the shelves. The Deli was short on a number of its regular items.
The woman behind the counter said they were short on supply ... and staff.
I heard two women chatting in the grocery store this morning.
"They raise the prices this time of year?! Yes they do!"
They were standing by the russet potatoes.

We finished our Christmas shopping for the kids this past week as I have nothing better to do since I have been recovering from a work related injury. I noticed all the toy sections at multiple stores were really thin. I worked at target right out of high school and our shelves then used to be full leading up to the week before Thanksgiving.
Michael Brown, whom I listen to on talk radio every now and again, says "what is the biggest hallmark of communism?"
I said to myself, "Papers, please."
He said, "empty shelves."
Communism always equals empty shelves.
Yeah, "Papers, please." reminds me more of fascism.
When there's no incentive to put in the effort to produce, there is likely no product. That includes all of the dependencies on suppliers.
