More likely an Army grunt. The Marines could care less and have their own version: MOS 0313.
We had a few 11B's in the platoon at Stewart. They loved it and didn't want to go back to the line platoons because being a grunt sucks. Much more fun to be with the BN reconnaissance element. When we had a few sniper slots come down, they all got to go to the school due to MTOE. One of the former 11B's who had been a sniper in the 82nd, and later switched over to 19D, became the NCO in charge of their section. Grunts can talk crap all they want, but nothing beats sitting on an OP and calling indirect or otherwise directing the grunts and tanks where to attack, etc. Being a bullet sponge is for the birds.
Thankfully, the only time I saw the inside of a Bradley was OSUT. All my other time was Humvee and walking. Also, I HATED being in a Cav squadron. I definitely preferred BN Scout platoons over an entire Squadron. Squadron life is essentially like being a grunt -- guard duty, basic patrolling, etc. Nothing fun.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program of funny pictures.
