I asked the neighbor if the county maintained the right of ways along the ditch and he said, "What do you mean?" I said does the county mow along the road? I think he's still laughing at me...
I have about 12 acres in hay that needs to be cut 2 or 3 times a year. I can't afford a baler, but at least I can cut and just pay to have it baled. Definitely adds to the bottom line when I sell it.
Just in case might want to DIY bale your own.
We have come across some used units a few times that almost triggered road trips to purchase.

^^ That little baler is pretty cool.
We got 37 large round bales today out of this cutting.
Little bit of Colt love...

You have excellent taste, Cameron!
On a different note, like Bailey, I needed to cut the grass, but unlike Bailey, I only had $12 to spend. So instead of a tractor I bought a flap disk wheel and one of those blade balancer doohickeys and tried my hand at lawnmower blade sharpening.

There is a limit to what sharpening can do. Good news is these were actually some junky old blades I kept around for practice. I had some equally dull, but far less ratty blades on the mower, and they sharpened right up.

Sharp enough to cleanly cut through two folds of shop towel with minimal effort.
I have no idea if it really makes that much of a difference or not, but I feel like it does. Mower seemed to plow through the three-week old jungle in the back yard without bogging down, and the deck was surprisingly clean.
That?s the thing. A sharp blade makes cutting go faster.
