When I was young, Carl Sagan and some Asimov books made an impression on me. I've always had an appreciation about what we can find "out there"...and what might eventually find us.
I.E. sky scraper sized meteor....*shudder*

I'm not particularly clear on how the McGyver level status works, but for an average I'd say somewhere between mediocre and advanced.
