Movie Thread

Critical Drinker is a great film reviewer.

My standard go-to, though, is Red Letter Media.

But they haven't reviewed the new Terminator movie.

21 minute review for a movie that's probably like 70 minutes?

Why waste 1/3 of the movie run time on some random opinion that the movie is a waste of time.

Saves me 50 minutes and an untold amount of money.

I think the future is bleak. People prefer more and more to "listen" instead of "read", and to "ask" instead of "learn". Not picking on anyone here, I just carry a belief that large sections of the new generation(s) will largely be close to illiterate by the time of adulthood in 30-40 years - with their primary interactions almost entirely within future iterations of [Alexia, podcasts, YouTube, speech-to-text, and auto-correct, etc.] Such a thing would also make them the most-manipulatable of any historical generation; not that humans haven't always been incredibly manipulatable to start with.

You'd be wrong, just like how everyone thinks no one has any attention span anymore, yet somehow 3+ hour podcasts are more and more popular. Every generation since the beginning of time has always thought that future generations will be more dumb and worthless, and they are always wrong, every time.

Because the review is likely to be twice as entertaining as the 2 hour movie it's covering, so my amusement-per-minute factor is much higher than actually sitting through another Hollywood crapfest.

If anything, Islam (in practice, if not in theory), gives a big thumbs-up to rape culture. If you disagree with me, you'll need at least four male witnesses to prove it.
