i found this on another thread...damn no BP pistols allowed...
"
In Colorado, there are minimum velocity and energy requirements for cartridge/centerfire pistol hunting, and our BP pistols fall under the same pistol regulations. A pistol is a pistol - as far as the DOW is concerned. Since there are minimum velocity and energy requirements, and nobody can say how you loaded your BP pistol, there is no way to verify the pistol had enough powder to propell the ball fast enough to meet the requirements. So none. Zip. Nada. No BP/muzzleloading pistols. Period."

Send me a PM if you would please. Have friends / residence in unit 039 and might be able to help. Depending on location.

Most of the bears there are under 150lbs, I got an ex nfl linebacker going with me who's an ox, so he'll be "hunting" with me. I don't know who's bigger or meaner...I'm going up there tomorrow for elk, my buddy finally found em and i got the coordinates.

OBTW, i saw some trout jumping also in the platte when i was up there last week. 2 of em came completely out of the water...
