I'm turning one room in today to give the motel manager a better chance of filling his rooms. Maybe we can organize a hunt later.

Wish I could have taken you up on it, but I don't even have a decent shotgun. Haven't had one in years. You'd probably laugh at my old J.C Higgins bolt-action 20 guage. God only knows when the last time I fired that thing was.
All worked out the motel manager was able to move me to a single and had friends that could take my doubles.
Will post pics if I bag some roosters.
good luck out there! Hope you have some fun
Hope the weekend works out for you. I would have loved to have gone, but there were already plans this weekend. When I was driving back from MI through NE on Sunday morning I saw a hunter let his dogs out of his truck and they darted off and out of a cornfield a few birds popped up and the hunter had enough time to close his breech and pop one. Couldn't tell what kind they were, but it was fun to watch in the work zone slow down behind a 35 mph semi. Not sure where exactly, but it was a little bit west of Kearney.
I personally would be all over this, alas, this excellent opportunity needs to go to a father and his kids.
OP, I wish the best for your friend and I hope you get someone to join!

Dave he may have been hunting doves or sharp tail grouse. Too early in NE for peasants. Don if you had been two always earlier before turned in my double rooms would have loved the company. I just offered it first to father and kids on the chance but was open to all. Timing was just off for this upcoming weekend but maybe next time.
