Remember, there is plenty of space between the studs in a wall. I have heard (but not tried it myself) of making removable panels in the walls or wainscoting. The key is if you tuck something away, the more you go to that spot, the more chance for leaving a tell-tale mark where something is stashed.
I have known people to tuck a pistol and ammo in air vents (all legal people too, not shady drug dealers and the like).
Going into houses everyday for the past 20 + years, looking for a leak and hearing there's nothing behind there or you will have to come back my hudand needs to be here to let you in that room. The best one is don't judge us when I let you in here.
