I've used the Pacmayer Pac skin with good results,it is not an aggressive finish but it does give you a semi-soft nonslip surface.

Could you use one of those pads that hold your cell phone to the dash board?
I've sprayed my stock (& gun) with the textured/fleck stone Krylon for a better feel. It's held up well in all kinds of weather and feels about right for me.
I was thinking tool dip. Off the shelf spray in bed liners might be too rough and hard.
Foam tape? Something like two sided tape.
I bought a spray can of Plasti-Dip at Lowes. I have three coats on now, but it's slow drying. I'll report in tomorrow.
Maybe something from the automotive world? I'm thinking about flocking my aics cheekpiece or wrapping it in alcantara or something.
This is flocking btw. (not my pic)

what about a basic felt pad? Would be softer on your face, but still provide what you need? And could be taken off if you don't like it.
it's only $4

I like the way the plasti dip turned out. I'd been shooting all these guns for years, and all I really needed was a bit of grip. Cushion wasn't high on my priority list. I'll try them as they are and consider some sticky back foam I bought from Hobby Lobby if I still don't love it.
I got down behind them tonight, and now I'm really happy with it. It feels like just the right amount of extra grip to keep my greasy face from sliding off.
