What season and which method of take are you considering?
that would be great I'm going early next year I will be hiking away from the truck. As far as loading the deer I can do it on my own my grandpa showed me how to load an animal on my own with some rope a pulley and a piece of ply wood. I am undecided on using a tree stand or a blind I got both on sale on Black Friday.
No matter the length or difficulty of the hunt I always take a basic survival kit. It contains: a space blanket, a lighter, flint and steel, something to assist in starting a fire (Esbit stove fuel, petroleum jelly soaked cotton balls or the store bought equivalent, small compass and iodine tablets. All housed in a Ziploc freezer bag. It weighs hardly anything but will help you survive a night in the wilderness. Things happen even on routine hunts that are easy in nature. It pays to be prepared.
