Sandhill Crane and Bald Eagle.
I thought maybe DOW had opened up Hippie season. Can't stink worse than speed goat...
I might open the application pamphlet tomorrow. I usually wait until the last minute to lend them my money.
I always put in for my wife and I for every species so the credit card bill is always bumped this month! But the refund checks roll in and I save them up and it's almost like a sweet little tax refund since I pay the cards off every month.
And with the cash back rewards the application fees are almost wiped out so not really too big of a deal.
When it will get interesting is when both my boys are eligible to apply for and I have 4x $974.
I applied for everything this year so who knows, maybe I'll have a shot at Bighorn, Goat or Moose.
I completed applications today for buck deer, cow elk, buck pronghorn and bull moose. In July, I'll add bull elk and bear. A change for me is that I might be hunting deer and moose from my back yard, and deer in a different area and season from elk. But even with 3 preference points and 14 weighted points for moose, the chance of drawing a tag is still pretty slim. There are a many hunters out there waiting with 14, 15, and 16 weighted points. CPW has developed a draw formula that lets a lot of licenses go to hunters with few or no weighted points.
A nice bonus this year was the $1 senior fishing license, and not having to buy a habitat stamp, one of the few advantages to reaching codgerhood.
Bastards are smart, I put in for the same area this year.

Any advice for a bewildered novice? I understand using the mapping tool at CPW website. But it seems that without years of experience or private-land contacts, a dartboard would be my best bet.
