I would. younger tastes better[Beer]
Best elk I ever shot was a yearling that was still with mama.
Not ripe yet.
If yer gonna pack something out make it worth your effort....
I'd make one of those eagles I saw in another video on here do it for me, and carry it out.
What the hell is this world coming to?

No way could I shoot him but I would go looking for his dad.
Drat, the video has been removed by the user.
I realize that the meat is more tender and tastier from young game but shooting yearlings or younger is never something that appealed to me. I'd prefer to let the animal grow up and (as Mtn Man said) make it worth my while haul the meat out.
I'm originally from Missouri and used to Whitetail hunt back there. You have to (or at least used to have to - don't know if this is still valid) check every animal you harvested with a game officer @ check stations. Every year I used to hear from these guys about hunters who would bring in deer that were so young that they were smaller than dobermans. It just doesn't seem right to me.
Yeah, a 4-500# doberman
In areas around Houston,Tx a Doberman size white tail is a good size deer.
Wow. I'm just so used to seeing animals that sized with collars around their necks and being walked by their owners (usually pooping in my yard...the animals, not the owners).
