I'm looking to load subs, but I'm also interested in everyone's pet loads.
I am going to dust off this topic and ask about powders that are used for the 300 blackout loads - going with both sides of the story for heavy and slow and light and fast. Also any recommended bullets that seem to perform well.
I have the brass, primers, and some misc bullets that might be useful...I have one NOE mold for a heavy weight at over 240 grains. The heavy weight bullet will be used a single shot T/C Encore.
Rifle barrel(s) are 2 @ 16" with 1/8 twist.
Real use will be for punching holes in paper at short(er) ranges. (Sub 100 yards)
I figured I use the info about powders / bullet weights to start researching on what new (updated) re-loading books I will have to get.
[added/adding]
I have both a progressive and a single stage press to work up the loads.
Hornady 110 gr, VMAX Using H110
Hornady 110 gr, VMAX Using Lil Gun
Speer 125 TNT Using W296
I’ve had good luck with W296 and Speer 125 TNT bullets for supersonic loads.
Resurrecting this thread to get some info:
I have a can in jail that will primarily live on a AR pistol.
I got me a 300 blk barrel but I have not installed it yet since there is no ammo to be had and reloading components are also scarce.
So, this is what I have:
small rifle primers (some)
H1000
Varget (This is what I have most of, as far as powders)
700X
Assuming that I can find some 30 cal bullets at a decent price, is there any load that will work with what I have on hand?
Both supers and subs, even though it will be a while before I get my can (hopefully by then I'll be able to find a better choice in powders).
I am itching to get this project going, but without ammo I would just turn a wotking, proven firearm into a paperweight...
I use AA1680 as mentioned earlier, would recommend.
