Do you get the "born to lose" tramp-stamp tattoo discount from the GOP before or after becoming an official candidate [Sarcasm2]
Straight up, stand tall, do right.
Thanks T.
If you're unarmed, you are a victim
Good for you. It is good to see you standing up and wading into the fight rather than running away.
I have been involved in local politics, although at very low levels, for about a decade. If you need any help, let me know.
This time, I recognize your sarcasm. The rampant corruption and graft is part of what has driven me to this decision. I'm not interested in money (the salary for CO legislators is only $47,561 annually so someone needs to explain to me how all of these people continue to get rich while in office - without corruption and graft). Nor is it to gain "power", at least not beyond having the power to start effecting positive change in this state and getting Colorado back to the state we once loved.
Well, I'm not an official candidate for anything yet. We'll see what's available and what offices I can run for office in.
Oh, THANK YOU! I'm definitely going to take you up on that if something comes of this!!!
I’m always available for your security team.
Ya gotta buy me lunch once in awhile though!
Shit brother - I'd buy you lunch any time, "just because"!
If something comes of this (I'll know more tonight), and if I need a security team, ever, I'll definitely reach out. Not many people make me stop and consider my choices before taking action against someone but, given different circumstances, you'd be one I'd look at and decide not to tangle with.
Excellent.
Thanks! We need more people to run who represent a solid 2A background without the extra stupid that frequently accompanies the Colorado GOP product.
I promised to keep you updated when there was something to update. Okay, there's really nothing to update, but here's where I'm at right now:
This evening I attended the campaign kick-off party for the single GOP candidate for State Attorney General (AG). At this party the GOP Chair introduced me to many behind the scenes people and they now all have my contact information.
One the the people I met indicated that "they" are aware that the is no chance of the GOP taking control of the legislature this time around - BUT, if we can just gain 4 more seats we'd be in better positions with committee's, etc.
The seat they're looking at me for is currently filled by a GOP incumbent (Ken DeGraaf, Colorado Congressional District 22), but as late as this evening he still hasn't announced whether or not he intended to run for re-election. He has until some time next month to officially decide. A rumor circulated amongst of few of those that Mr. DeGraaf is looking at assuming a role somewhere else. For now, it's all a waiting game.
I did get an opportunity to meet with a number of folks, some whose names you might recognize (especially for COS members) and even a few other non-incumbent candidates for state senate.
I'll say this, the ladies I shook hands with had a firmer grip than any of the men I shook hands with.
