I still just have iron sights.
Open sites.
But I do have a scope mounted and sighted in for my 20" HBAR, just rarely use it. And a cheapy ($29 NcSTAR Aimpoint knockoff) mounted and sighted in for my lightweight carbine. And again, I rarely use it. Although someday I think I'll mount it on a heavy kicker and see how long it lasts.
I have a scope on a 20" A2 for 100-500 yds at the range. Just purchased both the AR and the scope setup in the last week. The scope is mounted on a see-through bracket for access to both scope and irons. I have a NCStar on my SKS thats lastedfine to this point. Actually surprised by the quality of what I got for the money(mil-dot and all).
:?: I have iorn sights right now but, if I can afford some better optics I think I would like to get an EOTech or Aimpoint. I don't know anything about them, any suggestions?
come to a shoot and find out first hand. I can offer my Aimpoint and I'm sure someone else has a EOT.Quote:

I got the EOTech and so far it's been great! I had it at the last shoot up north. That was so much fun I can hardly wait untill the next one! I need to try it out on some longer shots.
Bushy 16" has an Aimpoint knock off and carry handle/regular front sight
RRA 20" has regular front sight post for now with an Arms BUIS - Going to put a nice variable on it when I get the cash. But I'll never have an AR without BUIS of some type... optics fail, iron generally doesn't and you can still usually nail stuff out to 300m with it. May not be tight groups, but you will hit it :)
EOTech and BUIS for me.
Iron all the way.
eta, the new rifle will be getting a scope.
Probably a cheap one knowing my budget.
