I always modify my bic lighters and take out the fuel injectors. Yes, carburetors can be hard to work with sometimes, but you never know.

Striker,ferro rod,cotton/petroleum jelly- can't leak or break JMHO [Beer]
Yep, fire good. I keep at least 3 ways to light it in my bag.

I have a magnesium fire bar that I picked up from Harbor Freight for about three bucks but I find that the mixture for the bar is off because that thing is harder than a whores heart and almost impossible to get pieces off of.
Lighter, matches, Magnesium bar with flint strip, And a plastic match holder full of Gun powder. A little powder can go a long way!!
