At my last job we did one of these as a team building exercise. Dunno that it really built up the team, but it was fun.Quote:

A burglar called police several times on Sunday when he broke into a Washington state escape room - and couldn't figure out how to escape.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office said Rye D. Wardlaw called 911 four times early Sunday morning when he found himself trapped inside the Northwest Escape Experience in Vancouver.
During one of the calls, Wardlaw told the dispatcher that he was hiding in the escape room because his house was being burglarized, the Daily News reports.
Wardlaw, 40, gave the 911 operator an address to the home he said was his but police quickly realized it was a phony address. Deputies traced the call back to the Northwest Escape Experience.
Surveillance video from inside the business shows two deputies checking the various escape rooms for signs of Wardlaw, but he had figured a way out by the time they arrived.
He was arrested a short while later when deputies found him walking through the strip mall holding a cellphone he had swiped from the front desk of the business.
Wardlaw initially denied being inside the escape room but later confessed telling police that he was homeless and had no place to go.
Tamara Bertrand, who owns the business with her husband Rob, told the DailyMail.com that Wardlaw first tried to break in through the back door but broke the handle and couldn't get it open.
That's when he found an electrical room attached to the escape room and broke into that.
She said he tried punching through a wall inside the escape room's bathroom, but eventually gave up. Wardlaw then searched around the electrical room and found a key to an empty suite attached to the escape room.
Bertrand said her business shares a door with the suite but they keep lockers in front of it. Wardlaw managed to get the door open and knocked over the lockers to get inside the escape room.
As he made his way through the escape room she said he swiped various items including a beer used as a prop, a cellphone and a TV remote. Wardlaw told police that he also ate a burrito he had with him.
Bertrand said Wardlaw went back and forth between her business and the empty suite next door. At one point, he pushed the lockers back up against the door to the suite but apparently forgot that's how he got into the escape room.
When he couldn't find another way out, Wardlaw panicked and called police from the escape room's office phone. He eventually did escape, but was arrested while walking through the strip mall.
While the couple is trying to find humor in the situation, Bertrand said it was still very scary to know that someone had broken into their business. The incident, however, didn't stop the escape room from opening up for business.
Police said Wardlaw was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary. His bail has been set at $40,000.
We did one as well and were pleasantly surprised by the challenge.
I've done it, and I agree with Irving.
Escape room? Pfft. Why would I bother with a simplified version of "real life"?.
It's like real life, but with corny props and the basically the same riddle over and over but it didn't get old because it's just as difficult to solve each time.
IMO, the experience forces you to think about how someone else set stuff up...…..not how you or I would do it.
It's still kinda fun to try and figure out the mind game that is before you.
