It's a great place. Lots of inventory. Run by a great guy.
,
ive justaken it out of the box and stared at it. It'll be awhile before I can afford glass.
The safety on mine is immovable. Trying to decide if I want to remedy it or send it back to Ruger. I read online where several are sorta loose. Mines locked up in the off position.
Nothing for awhile....
A batch of subs for the pdogs.
10 rounds of .223 75 great Amax for the bolt gun for velocity confirmation. With significant mirage and some wind the Savage still put five shots in a 2.5" group at 300 yards. It's such a nice shooting gun.
Loaded up a bunch more pink Eggleston 147s for belt fed fun.
While I was doing that, my roll sizer was processing a bunch more 9x19 brass.
Over the weekend I cast, powder coated and sized a gallon of .357 caliber-158 grain round nose bullets. By weight that figures out to around 2700 bullets
Loaded up some lapua brass w/ some various charge weights of the MR-2000 powder and 178bthp. Shot like junk. We've had no good loads out of this lapua brass and are scratching our heads as to why. Our baseline rifle is SSG3k and that thing went from a 2MOA gun w/ the lapua stuff to 1/2MOA-1/4MOA w/ 45.3gr of rl15 in win brass; atomic factory 175 match stuff shot just over 1/4MOA.
Does lapua brass have to have something special done to it? Has done this with neck size and FL size and had similar behavior w/ rl15. Just weird.
