Looking for a new TV

I have four Samsung TVs, a Vizio and a TCL in the RV. I'm sure there are better screens out there, but they all do what I need them to. Even the TCL that takes a beating. The being said, Costco makes it easy if you're a member. Buy it, try it, return it if you're not happy. My understanding is that LG builds the OLED TV screens in the marketplace. Sony and Vizio buy from them and apply their own design.

I'll never buy another Sony product. We bought a super expensive Sony TV some time ago. Their flagship model. It was in our home theater room, so it didn't get a lot of hours. Turned out that model had a problem, and a class action lawsuit was filed. Those who knew about it got their problems fixed. Ours didn't fail until about 6 months after the deadline to collect from Sony. They told me to pound sand on a $4,000 TV. Never again.

I had issues with an older Samsung DLP that was apparently known to have a fault. Glad the new tech came out when I finally had enough of that thing.

I have a 2018 model QN65Q9F QLED (predecessor to the Q70) that is amazing. Paid dearly for it being a 1st year model. External tuner/power supply box with one small fiber wire to the monitor for power and video so it's ultra thin.

I decided to avoid the potential burn in that can happen with OLED as I tend to keep these quite a long time.

All our other TV's, while older and barely "smart" are Samnsung and still going strong.

The other thing with Samsung is you can use often use SmartThings on your Samsung phone to control if you don't have other (Alexa/Google) integration.

That said, I'm not a total fanboi as I wouldn't buy a Samsung appliance if they were free.

We don't use our RV enough to justify replacing a working TV but it would not break my heart if the POS TCL we have (circa 2018) died a horrible death. That said, it's primarily the remotes and codes that piss me off even though I have a Logitech hub/remote setup to control everything via one remote or my phone or tablet.
