The more groups that we get tax breaks for could be used to prove that none of them are warranted, or needed. Or, to try to keep getting more little by little. Disabled vets, then all Vets that served honorably, then their widows, kids, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, then cousins. Do it for the veterans! What? Do you hate America or something?
That could be a way to get us closer towards a government that is payed for by the users of the services rendered, sales taxes, and tariffs on imported goods from out of state, or out of country. Buy a non U.S. made good? 10% sales tax. Made in the U.S. but not made in Colorado? 5% tax. Made in Colorado? 1% tax. Decide to use the courts? Schools? Fire or Police Department services? You get to pay for those optional government services by the hour.
