OK... Here's the hard part... Does he want pinhole accuracy right out of the box? Or just something that he can shoot a deer with every year?

with the acog 200 is boring - 300 is a little holdover and getting boring

Nightforce are frickin beefy scopes. Truly professional grade.

heres why I won't get one right now:

1) Secon Focal Plane

2) capped turrets

3) $1600 for the one that I want.

Dad named 750+ yards. He used to buck railroad ties, so 7.6 pounds won't be too tough for him, I imagine.

He wants it for home defense first, hunting second.
