especially when they go from 1.6 to 1.7 or like that

i used to fix people's computers when java did stuff - now i just refer them to desktop support - i just don't have the time

Or go from the "classic" IBM java (based on SUN), and were also using the SUN jsse2 security provider, AND had some programs hard-coded to call a specific jvm, AND didn't stick their damn ca certs in a portable directory, and have their 4GL vendor tell them to just copy some jar files... AND not test the flippin OS upgrade affect on Java on the dev or test boxes upgraded one MF month before the Prod server upgrade.
