I've never had any problems there.
I was kinda thinkin' along the lines of DeusExMachina's statement, but I was warned on another forum recently about a very direct statement that I made about a Colt product, so I figgered I should walk softly as I am new around here.
You pretty much said it anyway. [ROFL1] Don't troll too much, and don't shit on anyone's for sale threads and you'll be fine.
I've found that the Firing Line is always busy, no matter when I go. So the employees are always busy, and there's a lot of ganger-looking types that come in, a lot of morons, and a lot of grumpy people. Its retail. Being human, they can sometimes not be the cheeriest of people, but I never could call anyone an asshole there. Maybe its because I don't treat them like shit, and they are OK to me.
Fair enough- 'nuff said.[Beer]
I've bought a lot of guns from the Firing Line, and I think you can get a good deal on used guns if you know what you are looking at. My biggest thing is that I have wondered if the owner is bipolar or something. I never know if he is going to be happy/friendly, or a grouchy sob! When I asked him if I could bring students to the range, he got really rude with me and said no. What a shame; I could have brought him a lot of new business. The younger employees have always been friendly and helpful though.
I am currently using them for a transfer and am not pleased so far. I called and spoke to Bob on Thursday. I am not a patient person and knowing this I make sure that I don't wait longer for things then necessary. I specifically asked Bob if I would be able to pick the item the day it came in. He tells me yes no problem. So I go ahead and set it up. I have and pay for the item to be shipped priority so I can get it faster. Again the patience thing.
So the item gets here yesterday morning. I don't here from them all day and give them a call around 6pm. I inform them that they have it and ask if I can pick it up. I'm told no it generally takes 24hrs for them to "check it in" and the guy that does it wasn't there. But it should be ready by tomorrow (today) afternoon. I haven't heard anything today so I just called. They told me it's not ready and won't be today because the guy is not in today. But it should be ready tomorrow.
Really?!?! I just paid extra to get it shipped faster so I can wait several days after you get it to pick it up?!? Yeah thanks! I kept my cool and told the guy that I'm impatient and had they been upfront and told me that it would be at least 24hrs in the first place I never would have went with them. All I got was "sorry."
From a business standpoint does someone down there not think that only having one person on the planet that is capable of doing this for them might be a HUGE oversight??
I had something similar happen to me at that hell hole (The Firing Line). I used them for a transfer and also had spent extra money for faster shipping. Fed ex delivers the gun at 3:30 on a week day. I call at 4:30 letting them know that I tracked the package and it had been there an hour and wanted to know when I could come in and do the paperwork and pick it up. I was told that it could take a day for them to check it in and they would call me when it was ready for pickup. I told them that I had payed extra shipping to get the gun to them faster and asked if there was anything that could be done so I could pick it up that day. I was told no and that I would be called when it was ready for pickup. In my opinion that is PISS POOR customer service.
It turns out they called me about 7pm that night saying it was ready for pickup and I went in and got it that day. Everything worked out in the long run but the bottom line is that place SUCKS. Some of their employees are dicks and their customer service IMO BLOWS.
Rant over :p
For all of the "ranters" on here and the Firing Line haters (nothing personal)- Please don't go to the Firing Line! It'll be less busy for me![Beer]
