Anyone here put in for the whitetail only deer tags? First time I did this year, used all my pref points last year, figured it was a good way to get a tag.

The hard part will be finding whitetails. I bought a leftover whitetail doe tag for GMU 104 last year, then found out there's NO public land in 104, and there's damn few whitetails in this state. If CPW had their way, there wouldn't be ANY. I was told they want to keep it mulies only here.

Yeah, I figure at least it lets me hunt. Mule deer are the bigger draw for out of staters.

I'll be grabbing an OTC cow elk tag. Not interested in mounting a rack, just looking for freezer filling. First time in 3 years for me for any big game hunting.
