Yesterday my 10 day forecast had rain for 9/10 days. Only exception was tomorrow (Saturday).

We don't even have a sump pump here. Never ever had a drop of moisture in the basement.

That said, your story should have compelled me to at least check our (unfinished) basement. I hadn't been down there since before the rain started.

Fortunately, most everything is up on shelving. Anything that was on the floor is wet. Very wet. One pair of vintage speakers that were on a large piece of carpet, some rugs, a large piece of carpet and some vintage stereo and speaker boxes (sad face). I have one quite rare Yamaha 3020 receiver that I had the original inner, outer, and shipping box for. All wet. F*K

It could have been worse. I have 20+ pairs of vintage JBL's down there. Water wicked up around the perimeter wall on 2 sides and a bit through some minor floor cracks.

I've got a box fan and space heater going and put the HVAC fan on full.

It must have all come the last 2 days here because the wife went down to wash clothes Wed night and didn't notice anything. The rug in front of the W/D was really soaked.

Sorry to hear this, basement floods are the worst. I couldn't tell you how many times my parents basement flooded. The walls were cinder blocks, not concrete, I bet that place is cesspit of mold these days.

I thought I was ok but yesterday I discovered a serious leak through the floor of my basement. Thankfully it's unfinished and what I lost was limited a crappy carpet remnant I used to cover the concrete floor and some boxes of unimportant crap I was going to toss anyway. The water stopped just short of all the crap my sister stores at my place because she bought a condo without any extra storage space LOL. I feel the carpet absorbed the majority of the water. Got the crack dried and sealed, didn't even know it was there.

For those of you that had severe damage I'm really sorry and hope you get everything squared away.

I do mold inspection and testing if anyone has any concerns.

I was concerned we had a (white) mold issue until I researched a little and determined it's just crystalline efflorescence.

There's maybe a couple little tiny spots developing what may be black mold, but I'll hit it with some bleach water and a brush and knock it down.

Everything is mostly dried up now, I just need to pull up the carpet remnant. Good excuse to get rid of the ugly 80's dark green mid-pile thing anyway. The only downside is I installed 3 telco racks full of stereo gear on top of it. Since it's coming out in pieces anyway, no big deal really.
