Whats next to hang up? Oh goodie, Bing. No clicky after any search.
Well at least Java is updating, finally.
Ctrl+W what is this you speak of? Awwwwwww!
Good pint at Pikes Peak Brewing Co. in Monument yesterday. Wonder how the food is.
Time to down Chrome on this thing. How can anyone function using IE?
Yawn. Win8 you bore me. Time for the morning routine to begin.
Today is already pissing me off
7075-T6 has a machinability rating of 80%, whereas 1215 steel has a machinability rating of 136%. Anything less than 100% is difficult to machine, so the 1215 steel is technically easier to machine in this case. However, this doesn't mean that you can't get similar precision while machining either material, it just means that with 7075, there will be more wear on your tools and you'll have to go slower.
As far as weight is concerned, the 7075 will be 1/6th the weight of 1215 steel. However this is the least of my worries as it isn't going on a backcountry lug-it-through-the-woods-for-days firearm.
To what end? The scope base is steel and the scope is aluminum if I researched correctly (SWFA SS 10x MRAD). This general rule of thumb only really applies to clamping strength (when referred to firearms use), as in, you wouldn't want to put steel rings on an aluminum scope base because the scope rings are harder and will deform the aluminum scope rail when tightened down.
Actually, I think by definition, the LT104 IS kinda EASY to slap on a bolt gun, but the objective will be 0.25” or higher above the barrel, which is not desirable on a precision firearm.
TPS TSR 7075 Aluminum = $69
TPS TSR 1215 Steel = $79
They’re both in the budget.
I think if I were to get a QD system, it wouldn’t be until I get a super nice scope to share among several guns, so I'm not seriously looking at any right now.
Ya baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
