Sigh, its weird being able to apply physics to an engineering problem that you're designing and actually understanding what you're doing and how you need to change the design to better fit the requirements.

I've got a line on a Criterion Barrel in .260 Remington, a 26" in 1/8 twist. I'll get it screwed on by someone who knows what how to do it and then get it assembled into a decent chassis. Since I already have the action, it shouldn't be difficult.

I have also thought about doing away with the 'build it' mentality and just buying a 'factory' made, like a Surgeon, GA Precision, or Crescent Custom.

Sometimes you have to bite the bullet so to speak, to achieve maximum performance. After investing $$XX in to something, when i've sat back and looked at it. I say to myself, i should have purchased this already assembled.

And to add to what kazoo is telling you, you did JUST convince me to purchase the 700 5R instead of an SPS Varmint because it is pre-built and it's best to buy exactly what you want the first time. So why not save up until you have enough to buy the Surgeon, GAP or Crescent rifle? Though knowing what they're prices are, you might be able to take out a bank loan to finance it... [LOL]
