I trim my dog's nails about every 2-3 weeks. When we first got him, he would cry and whine, but now he'd cool with it. Every time, I get all excited about it and get him to lay down outside on the patio where I trim them, then afterwards he gets a treat and we play a bunch. Because of the treat and playing, nail trimming is now something that he looks forward to! The trick is consistency.

I agree 100% HB. It's certainly my fault for not keeping up on it. I think he got trimmed to close to the quick(sp?) when he was getting detailed at petsmart.

Worst one was a cat we had for 14 yrs. If she wasn't sedated, wrapped in a towel and paws secured with zip ties, it wasn't happening.
