I'm no mathematician and I may still need to run some numbers, but I'm pretty sure that 4.25qts of motor oil and 3qts of gear oil should not both fit into the same 5qt oil container.
And yet they did...

Did it drain the exact amount, or you basing it on new fluid amount?
It was based on new fluid amount.
Rear diff fluid level was pretty much even with the fill plug, motor oil had 5k on it, a bit much but not enough to eat 2qts worth.
