Get to spend the morning sitting in the dealership so they can dig inside my wife's vehicle to get a number off a part and then decide if that part is subject to the recall or not, even though they told me it was. Shouldn't they have this crap on file based on VINs? [Rant1]
My A/C went out in my truck, I started looking online to find a replacement and found out that it potentially was part of a re-call. Went to the stealership, and they said I had no re-calls on my truck :( Luckily it was just the condenser fan, cost me $60 and about 35 minutes.
Just walk.
RAGE FACE!!!!!!
Dodge kept sending me recall notices for the front end on my 2004.5 Ram.
I already bought and installed the "upgraded" 2008+ steering system. They included an option to apply for reimbursement for work already performed so I sent it in. We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll get a nice check from Dodge?
FWIW, I avoid most recall or TSB notices as often they are stupid shit I've already fixed myself or are just plain stupid. Case in point: *some* trucks were not going into park or slipping out of park into R (not mine). Their "fix" was to blast the horn if the truck was in R and the door opened. The only one I missed that I wish I had gotten - because I probably can't get it alone - was the one to allow idle control with the cruise buttons.
