Usually one runs their vehicle through the car wash before rolling underneath it. Regarding the filter positioning, you rather it be exposed more open to on/off road hazards? Most if not all off road package 4x's have skid plates. Up side is , next change should be 15 min tops. We had an 81 benz for service, before the www.
