What in the holy hell are you doing son? I have had 4-5 stuck cases in .223/.308 years ago and learned. [pick-me]
Chances are good that you die is just fine. I've had brass smear just like that when I didn't use enough lube. Try using an awl or thin knife and try to scratch just the brass. If the brass comes off then split a dowel, use a bit of fine grain sandpaper and chuck it in a drill to smooth out the inside of the die. The sandpaper should remove the brass before doing much to the steel.
