I've heard that Costco carries "Kirkland Brand" booze that is actually make by the good places, like scotch that is actually make by Glenlivet and vodka that is actually just bottled for them by Grey Goose, etc. Can anyone confirm? I bought some of their "Kirkland Canadian Blended Whiskey" and I'm going to do a side-by-side comparison with Crown tonight. I'll try to post my results before I drink too much. [Beer]Quote:

After doing a blind taste test (and being pretty familiar with Crown) I correctly guessed with about 90% confidence which was which, and I still prefer the Crown, but that is probably familiarity bias. The Kirkland one isn't bad, but it doesn't have the maple flavor that I've grown to like from Crown. If I score the Crown at 8/10, I give the Kirkland a 7.2/10. Lower score because it doesn't have the rich smell that I was hoping for and it was a bit harsher on the tongue. For the price, I'm pleased.
There is a gun store in this small town called "Tacti-Cool". I don't know whether to run toward it or away from it at top speed.
